Biography
Paul Lecomte
Paul Lecomte is a French composer and music designer whose work spans film scoring, immersive installations, and live performance. Rooted in contemporary classical music and electronic textures, his compositions explore the tension between silence and sound, light and darkness.
Trained at the intersection of acoustic composition and electronic production, Paul Lecomte has developed a distinctive sonic language that moves fluidly between concert music, cinema, and immersive experiences. His approach is inherently visual — each composition unfolds as a spatial and temporal architecture, where sound, image, and narrative are intimately intertwined.
His work has been presented across Europe in immersive exhibitions, broadcast ceremonies, and theater productions. Notable projects include the original score for the Olympic Flag Raising Ceremony, the immersive show Luminiscence, and the critically acclaimed Monument Live Sessions.
Paul collaborates with directors, choreographers, light designers, and brands to create sonic environments that are both emotionally resonant and conceptually precise. Based in Lyon, France, he continues to explore new territories at the intersection of sound, space, and image.
In 2021, he arranged and produced music for a series of sound and light shows commissioned by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, in collaboration with Yohann Bizeul. This pivotal experience led to collaborations with the Debussy Quartet, the Oratorio of Lyon, musicians from the Lyon Opera, and the National Orchestra of Lyon, contributing to architectural video mapping, large-scale visual productions, and immersive environments.
Together, they founded the collective Mvsicæ and released their first album in February 2023. They later collaborated with Alexis Duffaure, conductor at the National Orchestra of Bordeaux, on the original soundtrack for Luminiscence.
Alongside his commissioned work, Paul Lecomte continues to develop his personal practice. Following the release of his EPs, he is currently composing his first full-length album — a new body of work that deepens his exploration of rhythm, spatial composition, and performance, marking a new step in the evolution of his language.
